Hi guys,

First off, YEAH! This is MUCH needed app for EasySocial! Great initiative !

I will most likely purchase the customized version once I test it in full!

I'm trying to setup the API. I got it installed and made sure the EasySocial plugin was published.

When trying to connect from my Android phone (Samsung G S6), it keeps poping up "It looks like the API is not setup ..."

I went ahead and created an API key for my user. It let's me in but still pops up the message.

PS: Does one require to create an API for each user/member ?

Thanks
Danny

Hi Danny,

Thank you for the faith you've shown in us. There are 3 aspects when it comes to developing a mobile app which is dependent on an extension.

1.The Web app - in this case EasySocial from Stackideas.
2. Webservices to expose web app functionality to be made available in the mobile app
3. The Mobile app itself

Now, we on the App side have to manage not only the app but make sure that the communication happening between the App and the web part through the API is flawless. In almost all the cases we do not have any control over the web environment and it varies from site to site. This affects the behavior of the app in a big way, which makes troubleshooting a critical part of this process. In order to make it work for every web environment we have to make sure that the apis are dynamic. In some cases it takes time. We have to make sure that all the 3 working pieces are synced together in such a way that we get the desired output. If each and every subscriber of EasySocial App understands this task of us and supports us (just the way you did), we get highly motivated to help you in whichever way we can. If you want fast response form our end we also expect the same kind of response from your side to help us understand and solve your issue.

As far as your issue is concerned. It was specific to your user and was working perfectly fine with the Admin (you did nothing wrong). So, we had to make some minor changes in the code to make it work for you. Do let us know if you need any more information. I would request you to keep us posted via tickets since our support team checks them on priority.

Warm Regards,
Pranav

Hey Danny,

Thank you for showing interest in the EasySocial App. Well, it seems that you have done all the steps correctly and you don't need to create a separate api for each user. Could you please add a support ticket regarding the same with your site details (Admin and test user access)? We will look into it and get back to you with a solution.

Regards,
Pranav

Don't expect a solution anytime soon, same thing happened to me and after months we gave up and flagged it. Hopefully someone else or maybe even stackideas themselves will bring out a fully functioning working app.

Pitty, as it had great potential

Hi all,
I'm working with AppCarvers to resolve the issue. So far, support has been good.
I will post my findings as it's not quite resolved yet.
Let's be patient as this does indeed have the potential to make EasySocial a much more complete solution ;-)
Thanks
Danny

Hi,
The issue seems to have been resolved.
Divya: would you be so kind as to explain what you did to resolve this (or what I had done wrong) ?
Thanks
Dany

Hi Pranav,
Thanks for your response.
I so get where your coming from in your response and i'm all good with the time you took and the quality of support I got from your business. One has to realize I have spent 0$ to get this so far so you're not going to hear any complaints from me.
We here at BeNu Web and Jaffili affiliate systems hope you keep going strong with this APP. I've even spoken to the team at StackIdea about the importance of your app.
As mentioned to you in a private thread, I will be getting a version customized so your support time was not in vain :-)
Many thanks again
Danny
