We use the REST API by Techjoomla (com_api) as the backbone for our Joomla based apps. You will need to download and install the API extension and the required plugins to make the apps work with your site. This is a free extension that adds secure REST Web Service capability to Joomla. In order to make it simple for you, we have created a quick install package that will install all required APIs on your website.
Steps to install and set up the REST Webservices (APIs) on your site.
- Ensure your Joomla installation and related extensions are of the latest supported versions.
- Download and install the appropriate version of the common installer package for the API
- Login to your Joomla site as a super admin and use the extension installer to install this package. It should install and enable required APIs automatically. If you are new to Joomla and wish to learn how to install extensions into your Joomla site, you can refer the Joomla Documentation here
Note that none of the apps will work unless the api plugins are installed and enabled on your website. So make sure you follow this !
